Responsibilities of a Board of Directors

Board members are expected to dedicate much of their time to their role. Meetings can be long and include reviewing financial documents, addressing legal issues and discussing strategies and the goals of an organization.

This could involve working with businesses, citizens and elected officials to create new programs or initiatives. This type of involvement can also assist a board to be more sensitive to those it serves.
